An Afternoon of Learning – Spiritual Living in the Light of Vedanta
We are pleased to inform you that Adyapeath USA (Kali Mandir) will host “An afternoon of learning – Spiritual living in the Light of Vedanta” on the June, 11th. Swami Harinamananda Maharaj who is a monk of the Ramakrishna Order and currently serving as the resident minister of the San Diego Monastery, has kindly obliged to preside and speak on this event.
The event is designed to provide everyone and especially the young adults an overview of the Vedanta way of Hinduism and some of the key tenets towards living a spiritual life amidst a world convulsed by fear, violence, speed, and anxiety.
Swami Harinamananda Maharaj, was born in the US and received Masters in Socioeconomics from the University of California, Davis. He joined the Order in 1996 at Hollywood and served as Swami Swahananda’s attendant for 5 years. He then went to the Training Seminary at Belur Math for a few years. On coming back to America, he served in the Trabuco Monastery before taking his final vows as a monk in 2008. He is posted as the Resident Minister in the San Diego Monastery since 2008 and currently serves as the President of the Inter-religious Council in San Diego.
On this afternoon the Swami will present in his succinct and excellent way –
- An introduction to Vedanta & spiritual life. What is spiritual life and an overview map – Vendanta 101
- A journey through the concept of Inner Pilgrimage.
- Brief overview on Worship – discuss the meaning and significance puja/worship.
- Techniques to create and improve upon Spiritual Habits
- 30 min video where revered Swamis like Swami Asheshanandaji, Bhuteshanandaji, Ritajanandaji, Shraddhanandaji, & Swahanandaji provide short answers to the basic of spiritual life.
